Become a Speaker

You don’t have to be on-site to be a speaker this year! We are accepting both in-person and remote presentations!

Are you passionate about LEGOยฎ? Do you have a LEGOยฎ topic you’re enthusiastic to share with others? Do you have a technique you’d love to teach?

Consider being a speaker at BrickCon. The event is a success because of everyone who attends โ€“ including those who donate their time to offer sessions for others attendees! BrickCon offers negotiated compensation for our speakers.

Your content must be submitted to BrickCon by August 15th. This ensures we have your content ready to go, and have addressed any potential issues (technology, potentially offensive content, etc).

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

๐ŸŽซ Registration & Tickets

No. Registration is only for persons attending the Private Convention (Sept 10th - Sept 13th).

You may receive a refund any time prior to two weeks before the first day of the event.

Only if you have another Attendee pick it up for you (and you haven't requested your money back โ€“ see above). We cannot ship Convention items.

Yes. All sessions and ceremonies require registration to attend, as does access to all spaces that BrickCon uses.

Yes. If your guests are attending during Public Hours either Saturday or Sunday, they will require a paid ticket. We offer Friends and Family night, which takes place on Friday night. This event allows you to invite spouses, family, and friends to see the amazing creations with no charge.

Please note you are expected to escort your guests into the event and remain with them.

No. Tickets are sold for individual days and times of entry. In order to manage crowds more effectively, please arrive as close to your arrival time as possible.

No. You may register at the door, for the walk-in price. Walk-in attendees do not receive the same benefits (like Brick Badges) that other attendees receive.

BrickCon does will-call badges: you pick them up when you arrive, along with any other items you ordered.

Yes. Everyone who wants to be inside the private portion of BrickCon must be registered.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Age & Family Requirements

Yes. You won't need him or her to be with you at all times, just when you are entering one of the BrickCon buildings. We need to know that there is someone to make legal-type decisions for you.

Yes. Attendees between 14 and 17 are required to register with a parent or guardian.

No. A parent/guardian does not have to hang on to the under 18 individual the entire weekend. But the parent/guardian needs to be nearby in the event of emergencies. This is to protect you, your parents, and BrickCon.

BrickCon is a Convention for adults. We recognize that people under the age of 14 may have an ability to build at an advanced level, but building is only a small part of what BrickCon is about. Our history has shown that children younger than 14 do not have the appropriate maturity level to be among our adult builders without causing disruption. We want BrickCon to be welcoming to all, but the reality is that we must set limits.

๐ŸŸฆ LEGO Creations & Displays

You can bring your creation at any time after Thursday Sept. 10th @ 2pm. Staff and volunteers are available to guide you to where your creations belong. Check in at the registration desk before setting up any creations.

Registration allows you to bring creations. Unlike some other events, BrickCon is organized into themes as opposed to individual builders. If your creation is large enough to require its own table, please work with your theme coordinator. We may not be able to accommodate your creation.

Both. There will be some space within the Exhibition Hall to build while visiting with the other attendees. The Public LOVES to watch people build.

No. Set-up can happen any time Thursday or Friday. We do recommend having everything completed prior to Keynote on Friday. Our Friends and Family event happens right after, with Public Hours beginning at 10:00 am Saturday morning.

Yes. Use the Contact Us form and let us know what you'd like to do. We'll provide an address for you to ship to, and we'll transport it to BrickCon, where you can open your package(s).

Shipping, along with return shipping, is at your own expense - we can help with the details, though.

It is your responsibility to package up your creation to withstand shipping, to open and verify the contents when you arrive to the event, set up your creations, and re-pack them for return shipping.

No. The primary focus of BrickCon is to create community with other adult LEGO fans. We provide numerous activities, seminars, discussion groups, challenges and other entertainment with the intent that each person will find something in which they would like to participate.

No. We try to make sure everyone's creations remain secure. There have been no reports of items gone missing in previous years. If would like to interact with the public, please do so โ€“ you are not obligated to. If you need a break, there will be places to get away to where it will be relatively quiet. You may come and go throughout BrickCon on your own schedule.

No. If you know you must leave before Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, you have two options: pack up your creation after 4pm on Saturday (and before 9am Sunday) and not have them on display Sunday, or work with a fellow attendee to take responsibility for your creation and it's safety and transportation. We have instructions for our security volunteers to not let creations leave the building during the Public Exhibition.

๐ŸŽฒ Events & Activities

Yes, many contests. No, you won't need to pay to play. For a few activities (Dirty Brickster, Draft, 101 Bricks, Wacky Races, etc.), you will need to bring items to participate. Building contests will have all necessary items provided.

You must use Sched to sign up for games. You will gain access to the system after you have completed your registration through Afton Tickets. The deadline for games sign-up is one week prior to the start of the event. There is no on-site sign-ups for games unless otherwise specified.

The list of events and schedule will be available via Sched.org prior to BrickCon. You will sign up for games, events, sessions, and register your creations through this platform.

๐Ÿ›’ Sales & Trading

Due to our limited Vendors Hall space, we use an "Invitation Only" policy where people requesting to be a Vendor with a booth are vetted and invited (by email). If you would like to be placed on the invitation list for consideration please use the Contact Us page to send in your request.

Unfortunately, sales are only permitted at official vendor tables within the convention center. Any other monetary transactions must take place outside the Meydenbauer Center.

Yes, we encourage trading LEGO and other LEGO related items at the convention. Keep in mind that sales are not allowed.

๐Ÿค Sponsorship & Giving

If you'd like to help BrickCon with a sponsorship, please use the Contact Us form. We are happy to discuss our levels of sponsorship with you.

BrickCon offers various sponsorship levels including event sponsorships, prize sponsorships, and presentation sponsorships. Each level provides different benefits and recognition opportunities. Contact us to learn more about specific packages and how your support helps the LEGO community.

Yes, BrickCon is organized by the BrickCon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations and sponsorships may be tax-deductible. Please consult with your tax advisor and we can provide appropriate documentation for your records.

โ„น๏ธ General Information

Brick Badges were used in much of BrickCon's history, and are what they sound like: your badge for admission to the private event.

We no longer use Brick Badges for entry purposes. We honor our long-standing tradition by providing each registrant with custom bricks each year.

It depends. Please send any changes via the Contact Us form prior to August 26th. We cannot guarantee we can accommodate your request if submitted after that date.

No. If you are curious about events in other cities, we suggest connecting with your local LEGO user group. New events are popping up every year. You can also check out the LEGOยฎ Group's list of ANE events for LEGOยฎ events worldwide.
